4mm x 8mm 5/32in x 5/16in N52 Cylinder Rare Earth Neodymium Magnet 4x8mm

4mm x 8mm (5/32" x 5/16") Neodymium Cylinder Magnet – N52 Grade

Key Features:

  • Dimensions: 4mm diameter × 8mm thickness (Approx. 5/32" × 5/16")
  • Pull Force: Approx. 1.79 LB
  • Magnet Grade: N52
  • Coating: Nickel-Copper-Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) triple-layer plating for a durable, shiny finish
  • Magnetization: Axially magnetized (Poles on the 4mm flat circular ends)
  • Shape: Cylinder / Rod

Material Description:

Our 4x8mm N52 cylinders are engineered for maximum magnetic reach. The elongated shape concentrates the magnetic flux at the poles, allowing for a stronger pull through gaps or thicker materials. These are significantly easier to handle and install into deep-drilled holes than multiple thin discs.

Note on Brittleness: Despite their thickness, Neodymium magnets are fragile ceramic-like structures. Avoid snapping them together sideways, as the length of the cylinder makes them susceptible to shearing if they impact with force.

Warnings and Safety Information:

  • Choking Hazard: Small size is dangerous for children and pets. Keep strictly in a secure container.
  • Pinch Hazard: The N52 pull force at this 8mm thickness is strong enough to cause a painful pinch. Handle with care.
  • Medical Safety: Keep away from pacemakers and other sensitive medical implants.
  • Electronics: Avoid direct contact with magnetic storage media and mechanical watches.

Applications:

  • Industrial reed switches and Hall-effect sensors
  • Advanced 3D printing (embedding into deep internal cavities)
  • Heavy-duty miniature articulation and "flying" stands
  • Custom magnetic tool organization and jigs
  • Scientific experiments requiring a stable, deep magnetic field
