Diametrically Magnetized Neodymium Magnets — Radial Polarity for Motor & Encoder Applications

Diametrically magnetized magnets are cylindrical or ring-shaped neodymium magnets where the magnetic poles run across the diameter rather than through the axial length. This magnetization orientation is essential for brushless DC (BLDC) motor rotor assemblies, stepper motor components, rotary encoder systems, Hall-effect angular position sensors, and any application where the magnet rotates around a central axis and the sensor or coil must detect pole transitions. JC Magnetics offers diametrically magnetized cylinders in N52 grade across multiple diameter and length combinations. Diametric magnetization must be specified at time of manufacture and cannot be added to standard axially magnetized stock.
