3mm x 12mm N52 Diametric Neodymium Cylinder Magnet - 1/8" x 15/32" - 3x12mm

3mm x 12mm (1/8" x 15/32") Diametric Neodymium Cylinder – N52 Grade

Key Features:

  • Dimensions: 3mm diameter × 12mm thickness (Approx. 1/8" × 15/32")
  • Pull Force: Approx. 3.42 lbs
  • Magnet Grade: N52
  • Magnetization: Diametrically Magnetized (Poles on the curved sides)
  • Coating: Nickel-Copper-Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) triple-layer plating
  • Shape: Long Micro-Rod

Material Description:

Our 3x12mm Diametric cylinders are designed for engineers requiring a rolling magnetic field. Unlike standard axial magnets, these rods emit their magnetic pull from the sides, allowing for high-precision angular position sensing when paired with Hall-effect sensors. They are the strongest diametric magnets available in this 3mm diameter footprint.

Important Note: Diametric magnets align side-to-side. At 12mm long, these rods are fragile; avoid side-impact or snapping them together sideways, as they can shear or crack easily. Handle with care using non-magnetic tools.

Warnings and Safety Information:

  • Choking Hazard: Small size is dangerous for children and pets. Keep strictly in a secure container.
  • Magnetic Field: These will not stack end-to-end like standard magnets; they will snap together side-by-side.
  • Medical Safety: Keep away from pacemakers and sensitive medical electronics.
  • Storage: Store in a non-ferrous container to prevent accidental attraction to metal surfaces.

Applications:

  • Precision rotary encoders and motor position sensors
  • Micro-scale magnetic stirring bars for lab mixing
  • Unique magnetic "rollers" for mechanical assemblies
  • Medical device prototyping requiring transverse fields
  • Scientific demonstrations of side-pole magnetization
